Hey everyone. So you will never be able to tell me that I am not looking at what is catching all of your attention, and what it seems that more and more people want to see out of the site.

CD reviews.

I know that the site is called LiveMusicPDX and all, but I also know that a lot of what drives the music you see live are the albums they are producing. If you are anything like me when it comes to loving music, then you most likely have a huge collection of music. Maybe, like me, you have collected a lot of your music at the shows you are attending, or even go out and buy albums before seeing a band, and the final method I came across music before starting working on shooting them, you buy albums because you have seen the show, loved it, already bought the album and are returning for more.

Any of these ways, and there are many other reasons for collecting music as well, mean that the album serves as a good memory of the show you saw, or is a good way to preview an artist before going and seeing them live. There's no better feeling than to be able to call out for particular songs during breaks in the performance. Makes things feel a little more like a participation event.

Also, if you are anything like me, you have a fairly broad collection of music. Some of it main stream, some of it more indie/underground, and some of it you would rather no one ever even know you like listening too. Trust me, I have a lot of shame albums that I can't get rid of for one sentimental reason or another, or just find a guilty pleasure.

This isn't the point though.

I want more CDs. This is a shout out to all the local acts, and even the ones that are not actually from here, the wonderful Portland/Oregon/Southern Washington/Seattle area. Our bias is going to be toward local acts, of course, and these will be the albums that we request ourselves. This bias will not stop us from taking and reviewing a CD from outside the area, although we do like it if you are at least planning on coming and playing in our fair City of Roses.

If you are a band, or know of a band, that you think we should take a listen to, then pipe up! We want their music. I want new stuff to toss in the trusty stereo here in my living room and relax to, or even to get a little old fashioned head banging done to. No matter how old you are, head banging is still a good brain cell killing past time.

I hope you are all having a killer week. We won't have any new reviews coming out this week as we have had a little bit of a lull in activity. Things will resume back to normal when I get back from the Raconteurs show in Seattle. If you are all lucky, then maybe you will get some blog posts with some spiffy photos of myself and my wife fully embarrassing ourselves while gushing and professing our love for Jack White and Brendan Benson. Let's hope I don't get arrested.

Hope to hear from you all soon.
