Eric John Kaiser - French Toubadour (featuring Tete)

Some times you really really need something new to come along and restart things for you.

Eric John Kaiser's new album French Troubadour was a shot out of nowhere for me. I don't find myself listening to much of any French music to be honest, and despite studying the language for several years in my teens, I have had a complete disconnect with the musical offerings of our croissant loving friends from across the Atlantic.

Of course it would take an artist coming to our fair city and recording an album here for me to pay attention. I suppose I am starting to become a bit of an audio-localvore-snob. My iPhone is full of only local artists...actually I'm pretty proud that I managed to fill that thing with simply local music. Who needs to listen to what the rest of the world has to offer when they will just come here and perform it for you? Just kidding of course.

Eric John Kaiser, in this new album, manages to take you all over the place delivering everything you can imagine besides disappointment. The album is stuffed full of completely addictive pop hooks and tunes that will tattoo themselves into your brain. I found myself using this album for mood music and road trip fair this weekend as I went zipping on down to the Klamath Basin. An album truly enjoyable no matter the occasion.

Make sure to give the sample song, French Troubadour, a thorough listening. It features another French artist by the name of Tété who is, as I am writing this review, performing along side Eric John Kaiser as he celebrates the release of French Troubadour.

Make sure to head on over to Eric John Kaiser's websiteto find out how to get your hands on this great new pop album from an artist that has thoroughly earned his stripes as a great Portland Artist.

Jake has absolutely no choice but to highly recommend you go get your hands on this album:
